My boyfriend understandably got pretty angry at this response and asked him if he was the owner and if he thought that was how he should be treating his customers. My boyfriend again requested the game to be put on and the owner's cold response was "I already got the TVs all set." My boyfriend pointed out that there was only one TV playing his game and there was nowhere to sit on that side of the restaurant to watch it. She went and got the owner who was in charge of the TV remotes and he stopped at our table with the gruff question "Whaddya want?" like we were bothering him. Our waitress came by to take our drink order and he requested the game he came to see to be put on any TV so we could enjoy ourselves. In our immediate area, there were 3 TV's showing the Lions-Bears and another 3 showing the Vikings-Bills game with 2 TVs each showing the Browns-Dolphins and Saints-Steelers games, so 10 TV's in total. The TV was located in a section that was completely full so we sat in the front area with the most TV's in hopes we could get the game on. He wanted to watch the Broncos-Titans game, but there was only one television out of about 18 showing it. I came in to watch some NFL football with my boyfriend right before the 1 pm games and they were fairly busy, but not slammed. Please read this post first! ![]() That unfortunately backfired, as reviewers are currently critiquing The Invitation because there is already a well-reviewed 2015 horror film with the same name, directed by Karyn Kiyoko Kusama. Rumour is, the film’s title was changed to The Invitation after an early test screening, where some male reviewers argued that The Bride wasn’t a strong enough title, causing the studio to worry that the title would put-off male viewers in broader distribution. So, if being The Bride is central to the film’s commentary, why change its title? “I want someone to see me for who I truly am.” The term gets weighed with all kinds of symbolic and political implications, something The Invitation explores at length. I’ve highlighted this dismissal in a previous article, where I discussed how vampire media manages its powerful women, even in the very language used to describe them, especially the term Bride. ![]() It doesn’t matter who the woman was prior to becoming a vampire, as they all transition into these interchangeable femme fatale types, interchangeable even within their narratives, as Dracula is typically shown in the process of replacing dead wives. Creepy as that is, it’s perhaps more disturbing that these women are typically given the exact same characteristics, regardless of decade or name. Often, male vampires are a descendant of Dracula, whereas female vampires are married to him. Even vampire women in non-Dracula projects are routinely referred to as a Bride of Dracula. Dracula’s Brides, in particular, have a long-standing tradition in vampire media. The Invitation was originally titled The Bride, reminiscent of Dracula and Frankenstein’s Brides. Or why The Invitation’s unwarranted poor reviews reflect a history of dismissal.

After rain, or when snowfalls thaw, the streets, unnamed, unshaded, unpaved, turn from the thickest dust into the direst mud. Not that there is much to see-simply an aimless congregation of buildings divided in the center by the main-line tracks of the Santa Fe Railway, a haphazard hamlet bounded on the south by a brown stretch of the Arkansas (pronounced “Ar-kan-sas”) River, on the north by a highway, Route 50, and on the east and west by prairie lands and wheat fields. Holcomb, too, can be seen from great distances. Regulatory bodies do not set parameters for measuring certain ostomy product characteristics. 1 Selecting a convex skin barrier that achieves a secure seal or good fit depends on multiple components of skin barrier construction. The curvature of a convex skin barrier is designed to create a secure seal for a stoma that does not protrude above the peristomal skin plane or an ostomy surrounded by peristomal skin that has creases and folds. A flat skin barrier has a level or even adhesive surface and is ideally suited for a stoma that protrudes above a flat peristomal skin surface that is free of creases and folds. Ostomy skin barriers are available in different shapes. These statements provide a basis for quantifying the most clinically relevant characteristics of convex skin barriers and a framework for their application in clinical practice. The group reached consensus on 5 characteristics of convex skin barriers: depth, compressibility, flexibility, slope, and tension location. Twelve nurse panelists from 11 countries reviewed, discussed, and reached consensus on a group of proposed statements designed to provide standard definitions of convex skin barrier characteristics and clinically relevant application. The goal of the meeting was to define and establish consistency in convex skin barrier characteristics and their clinical application of the product based on these characteristics. ![]() In order to alleviate this confusion and encourage consistency in reporting product characteristics, an international meeting of clinicians with expertise in the care of persons living with an ostomy was convened.
